What is an RCCB circuit breaker?

Robust Construction and Advanced Protection Features

The CJL10 Series is engineered to meet the demanding requirements of modern electrical installations. Key design attributes include:

Supply-Voltage-Independent Tripping – The tripping mechanism operates independently of both supply voltage and line voltage, ensuring guaranteed disconnection during earth-fault events regardless of grid fluctuations. This inherent immunity to external interference and voltage variations significantly enhances system reliability in unstable grid environments.

High Short-Circuit Withstand Capacity – Rated with a conditional short-circuit current (Inc) of 6 kA and a conditional residual short-circuit current (I△c) of 6 kA, the CJL10 provides robust protection against high-fault currents, minimising damage to downstream equipment and reducing unplanned downtime.

Fire-Resistant and Impact-Resistant Enclosure – All plastic components are manufactured from flame-retardant materials capable of withstanding abnormal heating and strong mechanical impact, ensuring long-term durability and enhanced fire safety in demanding operational settings.

User-Centric Installation Design – Equipped with finger-protected connection terminals to safeguard installers during wiring, the device also features clear contact position indication for quick visual status confirmation. Terminal connections utilise pillar terminals with clamps, accommodating rigid conductors up to 25 mm² with a fastening torque of 2.0 N·m.

Precise Residual Current Tripping Performance

The CJL10 Series is available in both general type and S-type (selective) configurations, enabling coordinated selectivity in tiered distribution systems. The breaking time characteristics are summarised below:

Type Rated Current (In) I△n Maximum Breaking Time at Indicated Residual Current
General Type Any value Any value I△n ≤ 0.3 s / 2I△n ≤ 0.15 s / 5I△n ≤ 0.04 s
S-Type (Selective) ≥ 25 A > 0.03 A Min. non-driving time: 0.13 s (I△n); 0.06 s (2I△n); 0.05 s (5I△n); 0.04 s (10I△n)

For general-type RCCBs with I△n ≤ 0.03 A, a test current of 0.25 A may be applied in lieu of 5I△n for conformity verification.
