24-32 A Setting Range Motor Protection: Built-in Safety & Breaking Capacity
A motor circuit requires three core functions: isolation, overload protection, and short-circuit protection. In a conventional starter, these are handled by three separate components wired in series and tested as a combination.
The GV2-ME32 motor protection circuit breaker integrates all three functions into a single device that takes one position on a DIN rail. It is specifically designed for the 24-32 A setting range, covering motors up to 15 kW at 400 V AC-3, making it a standard choice for pumps, fans, conveyors, and small machine tools.
The 24-32 A Setting Range
The GV2-ME32 features a rated current of 32 A and an adjustable thermal setting range from 24 A to 32 A. The dial should be set to the full-load current on the motor nameplate, not the nearest available rating. Setting it below the nameplate current will trip the motor during a normal start; setting it above leaves the winding unprotected at its rated current.
Built-in Protection Features
Behind one handle, the GV2-ME32 combines:
Breaking Capacity
For the 24-32 A range, the general version is rated 10 kA Icu and 6 kA Ics at AC 400/415 V. The high-breaking version CJV2-32H is specified where the prospective fault current is higher. Coordinated backup fuses must be used if fault current exceeds Icu.

✶ Accessories and Mounting
The 32 A frame accepts undervoltage releases, shunt releases, auxiliary contacts (top and side), and combined alarm/auxiliary contact blocks. An IP55 waterproof enclosure is available with or without an emergency stop button, for machines without a panel-mounted starter.
